Springs Coast Environmental Center Field Trip::

This is my favorite photo from any year I have taught. It was taken at the Springs Coast Environmental Center (our first field trip) in October 2006. Mr. Weaver, the director, brought us on a walk through a scrub habitat.

I also write an annual story featuring the students in the class. The main character is chosen randomly.

  • Class of 2007:: Treasure Island:: Keith, the main character, finds a box on his dresser one morning and brings it to school. It turns out that it transports his class to a treasure island in the middle of the ocean somewhere. The class must embark on an extraordinary adventure on the island and learn about teamwork before claiming the treasure and returning to their ordinary lives.

Why do I admire Thomas Alva Edison so much?
I admire Edison because my grandfather on my mother's side idolized him from the time he was a child. He researched and wrote a novel about him about ten years ago. My grandfather taught me what it truly means to have a passion for something. His interest in Edison carried on to my mother and then myself.
