Students “build” a cell using JELLO and other edible components. Students read the meanings of different parts of a cell, yet I mention specifically the four they need to remember.
Cytoplasm- blue JELLO
Chloroplasts- lime green Gobstoppers
Nucleus- kiwi
Cell membrane- edges of bowl
*Mitochondria- Mike and Ikes
*Ribosome- Blue sprinkles in cytoplasm
*- Words for enrichment
The really neat clip art (I don't mean the layout... I designed that with Adobe Photoshop CS) is from Discovery Education! Otherwise, this website is designed, created, and maintained by V. Jasztal. Why do I admire Thomas Alva Edison so much?
I admire Edison because my grandfather on my mother's side idolized him from the time
he was a child. He researched and wrote a novel about him about ten years ago. My grandfather
taught me what it truly means to have a passion for something. His interest in Edison carried on to my mother and then myself.
