Welcome to Miami!
Miami, Florida is greatest known for its year-round mild climate and the fact it has a rich Cuban culture. Miami is in a premier location because it also is not far from Everglades National Park, also known as the "River of Grass". Here are some other attractions in the Miami area-

  • Hialeah Park has one of horce racing's oldest and well-known tracks.
  • Cape Florida Lighthouse is the oldest surviving lighthouse in Florida, established in 1825.
  • Miami is also well known for its Parrot Jungle, which was established in 1936 by Franz Scherr. He had the desire to build an attraction where birds could "fly free". A nature trail was dug through the coral rock and hammock land on the premises, though the natural flora was left untouched. Parrot Jungle is now home to 1,100 tropical birds, 2,000 types of plants, and one of the greatest known bird shows in the world.
  • Established around the same time as the Parrot Jungle was the Monkey Jungle, which is still open and currently home to nearly 400 primates, the majority of them running free on a 30 acre preserved area.
