Umm, Not Sure. Send Me Back To The Last Page!

And we're rolling!

STEP TWO continued.

Here are the sites you are required to visit with your team members. Read the information together and then write down what you think is important. I think it is best if you write down at least two to three facts from each website.

Very Important- Each site opens in a new window. After you are done reading the website's contents, close the window for that site. Keep this one open. It's just not all that great if you have several windows open at once.

Websites About Earth's Geology (CHOOSE TWO!)

  • Our Earth is Always Changing- A really neat introduction to Earth's geological features.
  • Planetary Mysteries- After you are done reading the instructions, click on EXPLORE! Read the instructions and then click on CLOSE HELP. Then click on the planet Earth to learn more about the geological features of our planet.
  • If Rocks Could Talk- There are three main types of rocks. Learn their names and features. All rocks on Earth, no matter what, fit into these three categories.

Then, choose ONE of these two sites- (YES, CHOOSE ONE!)

  • Read About Craters on Earth and Mars- Note- this is a .pdf file, so this loads slightly slower. You get to read about a crater in Arizona (United States) and one in Mars. How are they different?
  • Read About Canyons on Earth and Mars- Another .pdf file. Compare the Grand Canyon to a canyon on Mars.

    STEP THREE.

You should have written down some facts. Two for each site, maybe three. Some of you like to do the bare minimum, and sometimes that's o.k. There are a lot of sites to visit. But before you go on, ask yourself these questions:

  • Do I know how the Earth once formed?
  • How often is our planet changing?
  • What makes Earth a unique planet from other planets? (Hint- Our planet is covered with over 70% ________.)
  • What are the three types of rocks?
  • How are craters OR canyons different on Earth and Mars?

All Right! I Am Ready To Read About Mars!
