VIDEO:: AWESOME FACTS AND OPINIONS- With Ms. Jasztal
Purpose: Tell the difference between facts and opinions.
Instructions: Read what I wrote below.
FACT- How can you tell? You can prove what is written. You can probably open a book and find the answer written out.
Fantasy books are about elements that cannot be a part of our everyday world. They may include magical elements like ghosts, time travel, and mythical creatures with wings.
Chris Van Allsburg is the author of The Stranger, Two Bad Ants, and The Polar Express as well as several other books.
The Statue of Liberty is known as an immigrant’s entrance to the “New World”. People enter our country, and the first symbol they see is the Statue of Liberty.
Thomas Alva Edison is the inventor of the incandescent light bulb. He was born in the 1800s.
Albert Einstein was a scientist in the 1900s.
OPINION- How can you tell? Someone is telling what he or she is thinking.
I feel that fantasy books can lead you into an entirely different world, just like how Tomas Rivera closed his eyes and felt like he was riding on the back of a dinosaur.
I think Chris Van Allsburg has written some books that are worthy of being turned into movies. The Polar Express is an example.
The Statue of Liberty is picturesque and an incredible sight. I was in awe when I saw it from the top of the Empire State Building in New York City.
Thomas Alva Edison is one of the greatest and brightest inventors of all time because he had over 1,000 inventions.
One of the smartest and most ingenious people who ever lived was scientist Albert Einstein.
