TIME FOR KIDS Article:: Tornadoes

Purpose: Read a paragraph, and fill in some of the blanks with the best words you possibly can! All the words have to do with forecasting weather and tornadoes. How will you do?

Instructions: Visit this website to read a paragraph and try to fill the blanks in the paragraph with the best word possible. [This is called cloze activities.]

JOURNAL ASSIGNMENT:

  • After completing the practice... how did you do? What was easy about the practice? Was there anything difficult about the practice? Explain.
  • In order, write down your answers to this activity.
  • Use three of the words from the paragraph that you inserted in original sentences. You may combine more than one word into a sentence, yet make sure that the sentence(s) make sense.
